Making active learning possible for all learners
Sendsteps is the Learning Loop Platform for education. We design the editor and presentation mode with WCAG 2.2 in mind, so more students can take part, including through voice-over, closed captions and multiple languages.
Where it shows up
The editor and presentation mode, both in scope
Accessibility work covers the two parts of Sendsteps teachers and students actually use: preparing a lesson, and running it.
Presentation mode
This is where students participate. Voice-over and closed captions help more people follow along, in class or in their own time. Multiple languages are available here too.
Inclusive learning
Not all learners can participate the same way
Live interaction only works if students have more than one way to take part. Sendsteps supports an equal voice, including quieter students and students who follow along with captions or in another language.
Reduce barriers to speaking up
Students can respond in writing, including anonymously. That lowers the threshold for students who would rather not speak in front of the group.
Follow along in more than one language
The editor and presentation mode are available in multiple languages, so teachers and students can work in the language that fits the lesson.
Make understanding visible
Answers during the lesson help teachers see who is following, without waiting for a test. That supports students who might otherwise stay silent.

We do not treat accessibility as a one-time checklist. We strive to develop Sendsteps with WCAG 2.2 in mind, in the editor and in presentation mode, and we keep improving as we learn from teachers, students and our own reviews.

In practice
Reducing barriers to participation
These are the supports we currently offer, so more students can follow and respond in a way that works for them.
Voice-over of the presentation
Teachers can add a voice-over so students can listen to the presentation, in class or in their own time.
Closed captions
Closed captions are available, so students who read along, or who cannot use audio, still have a path into the lesson.
When speaking up isn't an option
Written and anonymous responses give quieter students a way to contribute without speaking in front of the group.
Not everyone learns at the same pace
Students answer on their own device. That gives people a moment to think, instead of competing for the first hand in the room.

WCAG 2.2 as our reference, not a one-off claim
We strive to develop Sendsteps with WCAG 2.2 in mind. That is a design direction we keep working towards in the editor and in presentation mode. It is not a guarantee that every screen already meets every criterion.
